Spectrum Youth & Family Services

Spectrum Counseling Program is nationally recognized for the work we do with youth and young adults (ages 14-22) and their families. Staff are trained as both Mental health and Substance Abuse counselors and use evidence based practices approved by the National institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Treatment is individualized and developed with each youth and family. Family counseling and parent coaching and support is also recommended and available.

The program provides confidential screening, assessment, urine testing, and treatment for substance use problems and other mental health issues. Service for specific treatment issues include, but are not limited to:

  • Counseling for Court Diversion requirements;
  • School substance policy violations,
  • DUI/Crash;
  • Depression, anxiety/stress;
  • Trauma; Bipolar concerns; Eating Disorders;
  • Anger management;
  • Adjustment to life changes;
  • Family or parenting challenges;
  • Psychiatric assessment/consultation; medication management;
  • Access to physical healthcare.

Where do I go?
Spectrum Counseling program is located at 31 Elmwood Avenue in downtown Burlington just off of Church Street next to the Post Office.

How will I pay for services?
Spectrum has funding to serve uninsured people with substance abuse problems. We also accept Medicaid, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Magellan, MVP, Cigna, CBA and others. Our staff will assist you in determining your eligibility and insurance coverage.

How do I make an appointment or referral:
call the referral line (802) 864-7423 ext 310 (all voicemail is confidential) or visit our website www.spectrumvt.org/counseling and fill out the online referral form. We have open daily intake appointments or will schedule your appointment as soon as possible to accommodate your schedule to the best of our ability.
